Managing Perceptions in the Workplace ‘Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover’

It’s been said that perception is reality. In the workplace, negative perceptions that aren’t managed become rumours, then gossip and then backbiting, which leads to destruction. Unmanaged perceptions become a reality that wasn’t intended.

How our perception, judgement and biases can shape outcomes for us personally and professionally is significant …

Isn’t it common that two people can see and hear the same thing and yet interpret it differently?

Bias, perception and judgment can often incorrectly frame a story for us in our own minds, affecting decision making, performance, productivity and relationships.

While we all probably know what bias, incorrect perception and bad judgement is, we probably haven’t taken the time to really address its effects in the workplace, nor have we looked at ways to eliminate it.

Our  Soft Skills workshop called ‘Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover’ addresses and deals with the issues in clear and actionable steps.

It’s possible to actively manage the perceptions others have of you and you have of others.

Customer Service  ‘It’s all About People’
